• Terminal Server support: TeamViewer can be configured to create an ID per user on server operating systems. With this new feature each Terminal Server user can be accessed remotely at the same time.
• Files can be transferred to the remote desktop by drag & drop on the remote control window
• Groups are matched also when searching in the partner list
• A new button in the remote toolbar simplifies switching between multiple remote monitors
• A new button is shown in the remote toolbar when the remote computer requests the input of the Ctrl+Alt+Del key combination
• The current computer is marked with "this computer" in the partner list

• Unicode characters in e-mail templates are handled correctly

  The packet prioritization that was specifically developed for TeamViewer ensures an optimal audio and video quality even if you are transferring files or if you are actively working on a remote desktop at the same time.
• Application selection:
  Present only selected applications instead of your whole desktop.
• Teleconferencing:
  Your partner does not have a headset for VoIP? No Problem - TeamViewer 5 has an integrated teleconferencing solution with access numbers in numerous countries (additional charges per minute apply for calling the access numbers).
• Usability:
  The new TeamViewer control panel and an optimized menu simplify and improve the handling of our software.
• Improved performance:
  TeamViewer 5 is even faster than TeamViewer 4, especially in routed connections behind firewalls.
• Improved whiteboard:
  Improved whiteboard for fast notes.
• Adaptability:
  TeamViewer's options have been further improved and enhanced so you can adapt it even better to your needs.

Licenses, Updates and downward compatibility

• Teamviewer5 users are able to connect to TeamViewer 3 and 4 without any restrictions. The software is fully downward compatible.
• A connection from TeamViewer 3 or 4 to TeamViewer 5, however, is not possible for technical and licensing reasons.
• During the beta phase the TeamViewer 4 license keys are valid for the beta version of TeamViewer 5. With the release of the final version 5 the purchase of an update will be required.
• All customers who have bought a license key on the first of October 2009 and later will be able to use it permanently with TeamViewer 5 - in this case the update will be free of charge.
• If you have purchased TeamViewer before October 01, 2009 you will find a suitable update in our webshop.
