TeamViewer IoT Quickstart for Custom Devices
Here you will learn how to set up the TeamViewer IoT Solution on your custom device.
Follow the steps in this section.
What you will need to set up a TeamViewer IoT Custom Devcie
Make sure that you have prepared the following points:
- Your TeamViewer credentials.
If you don’t have an account yet, visit https://www.teamviewer.com/ to create a new account. - A supported device with a working operating system.
See System Requirements to learn which devices and operating systems are supported.
Install the IoT Agent on a Device
The TeamViewer IoT Agent is needed to enable remote access to devices via internet. Installing it is a prerequisite to all remote access and monitoring processes.
- To log in to the IoT Management Console, open https://teamviewer-iot.com and use your TeamViewer account credentials.
- From the left menu select Inventory then click Add Device.
- Depending on your operating system, select the correct installation package.
- Select a Group or create a new Group for your device.
- Follow one of these steps depending on your previously selected operating system:

|---|---|
| GNU/Linux and Other | Connect to the device and execute the displayed code. Follow the instructions while installing. |
| Windows | Download TeamViewer IoT for Windows and install the software. Follow the instructions while installing. |
The device is automatically added to the Inventory and can be identified by its hostname. It is placed in the selected Group.

Use the IoT Management Console to check the Setup
Once your device is up and running you can log in to the IoT Management Console. The IoT Management Console lists all your devices, connected sensors and many more information.
- To log in to the IoT Management Console, open https://teamviewer-iot.com and use your TeamViewer account credentials.
- From the left menu select Inventory.
- From the dropdown menu select Devices.
Your device is listed and working correctly.
Navigate through the Dashboard, e.g. to see sensor metrics from the sensors, create widgets with sensor data, or define rules for automatic alarms on the TeamViewer IoT cloud.
