What New Year’s resolutions are you making for 2016? From getting in shape, learning to code in PHP, taking up Taekwondo, cutting out pizza or even just taking time to get some fresh air every day. The New Year gives us the opportunity to remove all excuses and start over fresh.

Sure, it can be a big challenge to actually stick to your plans once the year really begins.

But even if you fall off the wagon partially, or even fully, at least you’ll have made a positive start to the New Year.

In case you’re stuck for ideas of how to make 2016 the best year yet – for inspiration, here are resolutions from some of the TeamViewer blog’s authors.

I want to stop making my smartphone the last thing I look at before going to bed, and the first thing I reach for in the morning. Also, I’d like to update my personal website (at least to the point where the copyright no longer says 2013).

Extending my tertiary education in at least one way is also on the books – an online language course or a quick update of coding skills goes a long way to keeping the mind fresh and open to new information!

Here at TeamViewer, we have awesome height-adjustable tables. Yet I spend most of my time sitting behind my desk instead of standing up once in a while. So my New Year’s resolution will be to stand up while working more often.

In the famous words of William Arthur Ward, “Before you quit, try.” This coming year, I intend to rekindle old but not forgotten plans/projects, dust them off and bring them back to life.  #workingmompreneur

I have the fantastic opportunity to work with the latest design software and very talented coworkers. My resolution is to improve my Photoshop skills, both for professional and personal life.

My New Year’s resolution is to read from my book every evening before going to bed instead of checking all social media updates. Social media is a big part of my work but I don’t need to go overboard with it.

I would like to be more direct. If you don’t tell people what you want, you shouldn’t be surprised when you end up with the fuzzy end of the lollipop.

Coffee tastes great, but gives me the jitters and a wired feeling, and I most often drink it out of habit than need. Switching to tea will help me get through the day, and sleep more restfully at night!

We’ll be doing our best to stick to the promises we’ve made to ourselves.
