Interview Preparation at TeamViewer

At TeamViewer, our interview experience is designed to help you do your best. We focus on meaningful conversations that allow you to share your experiences, showcase your strengths, and demonstrate how you align with our way of working.

Our interviews are based on behavioral questions, which means we’ll ask you to share real examples from your past experiences.

This helps us understand how you:

  • Take Ownership and think long-term
  • Take Action and make decisions with speed and judgment
  • Build relationships and Earn Trust
  • Challenge the status quo and Think Big
  • Deliver outcomes with quality and impact

Here at TeamViewer, we focus on how you approach real situations and create value.

Examples of questions you may be asked:

  • Tell us about a time you had to make a decision with multiple possible solutions. How did you choose?
  • Describe a situation where you took a risk or learned from a mistake.
  • Share an example of when you took ownership beyond your defined role.
  • Tell us about a time you motivated others or drove collaboration.
  • How have you used data or insights to inform a decision?

We’re not looking for perfect or scripted responses—but we value clear, structured storytelling.

Strong answers typically include:

  • Context – What was the situation?
  • Goal – What were you responsible for?
  • Actions – What did you specifically do?
  • Outcome – What happened, and what did you learn?

A helpful way to structure your responses is the STAR method:

  • Situation – Set the scene
  • Task – Define your responsibility
  • Action – Explain what you did
  • Result – Share the outcome and impact

Focus on your individual contributions (use “I” instead of “we”) and include measurable results where possible.

  • Think in stories – Give complete examples with a clear beginning, middle, and end
  • Be specific – Use real situations, not general statements
  • Be clear and concise – Provide enough detail without overloading
  • Show range – Prepare examples that highlight different skills, including challenges and learning moments
  • Be authentic – We value honesty, self-awareness, and growth
  • Ask for clarification – It’s always okay to ask if something isn’t clear

Not every story needs to be a success. We value how you learn, adapt, and improve.

At TeamViewer, we recognize AI as an important tool and encourage you to use it as part of your preparation.

During interviews, however, we’re focused on understanding your experiences, thinking, and impact. We therefore expect candidates to answer questions authentically and in their own words.

Using AI to generate responses in real time, or presenting AI-generated work as your own, can make it difficult to assess your individual contribution and may not reflect our principles such as Earn Trust and Ownership.

In short:

  • Use AI to prepare and practice
  • Don’t use AI during live interviews or assessments (unless explicitly allowed)

If AI use is relevant for a specific exercise, we’ll clearly communicate that in advance.

Accommodations and Support
We are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible experience. If you need any adjustments, please reach out to your recruiter at any time.

Role-Specific Exercises
Some roles may include a presentation, assessment, or practical task. If this applies, we’ll share details in advance so you can prepare.

Your “Why TeamViewer?”
Be ready to share what motivates you. We’re interested in:

  • Why TeamViewer
  • Why this role
  • What impact you want to make

Your Questions Matter
Interviews are a two-way conversation. We’ll leave time for your questions, and you can always follow up afterward with your recruiter.

Share Your Feedback
You’ll receive a short survey after your interview. Your input helps us improve our candidate experience.

What to Expect Next
We aim to provide an update within one week. If you haven’t heard from us, feel free to reach out to your recruiting contact.

Final Thought

We’re not looking for perfection—we’re looking for people who are curious, take ownership, act with purpose, and continuously learn.
Bring your authentic self, share your experiences, and engage in the conversation. That’s the best way to succeed—and for us to get to know you.

Our Leadership Principles

Leadership is not determined by your position or the number of people you manage. It is demonstrated through the choices you make, the responsibility you take, and the way you contribute. Let these principles shape your judgment, your collaboration, and your results—and put them into practice every day.

Ownership
Leaders are true owners. They make decisions with a long-term perspective, safeguarding enduring value over immediate outcomes. Their mindset extends beyond their own function, acting in the best interest of the entire organization. They never say “that’s not my job”.

Take Action
Speed drives impact. A significant number of decisions are reversible and should not require extensive analysis. We value confident execution paired with thoughtful, calculated risks.

Think Big
Small thinking restricts potential. Leaders articulate a bold direction that motivates exceptional results. They think differently, stay ahead of change, and proactively seek better ways to improve.

Earn Trust
Leaders listen with intent, communicate openly, and treat others with respect. They practice visible self-reflection, even when it may feel uncomfortable. Leaders remain grounded and avoid overestimating their own or their team’s performance. They continuously benchmark themselves and their teams against the highest standards.

Stay Curious
Leaders recognize that learning never stops. They actively seek feedback, remain curious, and continuously challenge themselves to grow and explore new possibilities.

Hire & Develop
Leaders elevate the talent bar with every hire and promotion. They identify and nurture exceptional talent, actively investing in people’s growth to build strong, sustainable teams. They lead as coaches rather than simply managers, taking full accountability for the development of others and themselves.

Raise the Bar
Leaders consistently set and uphold high standards. They challenge themselves and others to deliver work of the highest quality, address issues at their root cause, and resist settling for “good enough” when improvement is possible. Their focus is on sustainable excellence rather than short-term fixes.

Innovate & Simplify
Leaders continuously seek better ways to solve problems and improve outcomes. They question established approaches, eliminate unnecessary complexity, and design solutions that are simple, scalable, and effective. They prioritize thoughtful innovation that delivers sustainable, long-term value over short-term fixes.

Deliver with Excellence
Leaders concentrate on the critical inputs that drive their business, delivering them with the appropriate quality and in a timely manner. Even in the face of setbacks, they rise to the challenge and refuse to settle.

Customer Obsession
Leaders prioritize customer impact in every decision. They work backwards from customer needs, operate with urgency to build trust, and maintain competitive awareness without losing focus on those we serve.
