TeamViewer takes Gold at Microsoft EMEA Builders Hackathon

Quick read, Award

A TeamViewer team earned the Gold award, placing second, at the Microsoft EMEA Builders Hackathon, part of the 2026 Microsoft Global Hackathon. Held in Copenhagen from September 14–17, the event brought partner companies together with Microsoft engineers and product specialists to develop and test AI prototypes. The Microsoft Global Hackathon gives participants an opportunity to experiment with emerging technologies, collaborate across organizations and turn ideas into solutions with real-world impact. TeamViewer was represented by Jonas Beer, Clemens Peer, Jakob Pühringer and Marcel Schwarz, who used the event to explore a simple question: how can TeamViewer bring AI-powered IT support even closer to employees in the tools they already use?

Bringing TeamViewer troubleshooting into the workflow

The team developed a prototype called TeamViewer QuickFix, designed to connect Tia, TeamViewer’s Intelligent Agent, with Microsoft 365 Copilot. The concept allows an employee experiencing an IT issue to ask for help directly through Copilot. Behind the scenes, TeamViewer could help identify the affected device and problem, recommend a fix, request the necessary approval and confirm whether the issue has been resolved. The prototype showed how TeamViewer’s capabilities could be extended into the tools employees already use, making IT support easier to access in the moment it is needed.

A strong foundation for AI-powered support

TeamViewer’s broad device reach, remote connectivity and AI troubleshooting capabilities create the potential to move from identifying IT problems to helping resolve them quickly and directly.

That value proposition helped the team stand out. For its final three-minute pitch, TeamViewer demonstrated a familiar scenario: PowerPoint fails just before a presentation, the user asks Copilot for help and the issue is resolved. The simple demonstration made the potential benefits clear — faster support for employees, less repetitive work for IT teams and reduced downtime for businesses.

Earning the Gold recognition demonstrates how TeamViewer’s existing capabilities can provide a strong platform for new AI experiences by connecting intelligent assistance with the devices and workflows where customers need it most.
