Brack.Alltron Logistik AG is a leading Swiss logistics company. It processes and dispatches an average of 4.5 million parcels per year to private, business and retail customers from its state-of-the-art logistics center in Willisau, which covers around 75,000 square meters. The company is part of the Brack.Alltron group of companies with around 1,300 employees.
Almost two thirds of customer orders in the warehouse in Willisau are processed fully automatically, while the remaining third is picked manually.
Before the introduction of Pick-by-Vision, this picking process at Brack.Alltron was based on paper. This led to several challenges:
Inefficiency: Employees had to fiddle with paper and pens, which slowed down the process overall.
Error rate: Errors during order picking were often only discovered by the customer, which led to complaints and increased costs for both the customer and Brack.Alltron.
No real-time data: Without a digital connection to the warehouse management system, the current stock level was not always up-to-date.
No digital routing: The navigation in the warehouse wasn’t digitally optimized, which led to inefficient, longer routes between the individual items.
Brack.Alltron therefore began to look at new, more efficient technologies for manual order picking.
David Neuenschwander Lead Engineering Systems at Brack.Alltron
"With TeamViewer Frontline Pick, we were able to increase efficiency by 30% compared to the old paper-based picking process. It is important for us that our processes are very efficient in order to keep order throughput times short, costs low and to be able to deploy staff efficiently."
Using pick-by-vision with TeamViewer's Frontline Pick solution, Brack.Alltron was able to successfully overcome these challenges. Pick-by-vision via smart glasses offers the company and its employees several significant advantages:
30% increase in efficiency: Compared to the old paper-based process, picking efficiency has increased by 30%.
Hands free: Employees have both hands free for order picking as they no longer need pen and paper.
Optimized routing: The pick-by-vision glasses show warehouse employees the optimal route to the next item, similar to a navigation system.
Reduced error rate: The items are scanned and thereby confirmed during the picking process - this has significantly reduced errors and therefore increased customer satisfaction.
Real-time data: With the seamless connection to the warehouse management system, the company can digitalize its logistics, keep an eye on its inventory at all times and largely dispense with paper.
Brack.Alltron has been using pick-by-vision successfully for several years. The company has been using Frontline Pick since 2024, that runs on RealWear smart glasses. The implementation went smoothly.
The company is therefore planning to transfer further processes to the pick-by-vision glasses together with TeamViewer in order to further increase efficiency.
