You can protect the TeamViewer Options with a password to avoid other users changing your defined options for the TeamViewer (Classic) application.

This article applies to all TeamViewer (Classic) users.

Set up a password to protect your TeamViewer options

Follow the below steps to set up your password to protect your TeamViewer options

1. You can set up the password in the TeamViewer options.

2. Click the Gear icon (⚙) in the upper right corner of the TeamViewer (Classic) application and navigate to Advanced ➜ TeamViewer options.

3. Choose and type in your password for the Protect options with password box, and repeat the password under Confirm password. Click OK to save.

4. After you activated the password protection for the TeamViewer options it is only possible to access the options by typing in the correct password: 

Remove the password that protects your TeamViewer options

You can remove the password protection for the TeamViewer Options by deleting the password in the advanced TeamViewer options.

  1. Click the Gear icon (⚙) in the upper right corner of the TeamViewer (Classic) application and navigate to Advanced ➜ TeamViewer options.
  2. Remove the password in the Protect options with password box, and repeat the step under Confirm password.
  3. Click OK to save.
