Centrally manage the entire user life cycle and reduce manual processes with automated tools to create users for initial company onboarding, move users to different groups as roles and permissions change, and delete users for efficient offboarding.

TeamViewer Tensor with User Groups and Roles enables IT organizations to ensure the right roles and permissions are assigned to the right end-users and administrator groups, securely and efficiently.

With built-in automated features and bulk editing capabilities, User Groups and Roles helps eliminate repetitive, manual end-user management tasks to save time and effort, especially for resource-constrained IT departments handling large-scale deployments on a daily basis.

  • Automate user life cycle management for creating, updating, and deleting users.
  • Organize users into groups for easier administration.
  • Move users between groups for role or department changes.
  • Apply bulk changes to different users and user groups at once.
  • Create your own custom user roles, improve flexibility, and standardize permission sets based on your unique needs and requirements.

User groups are automatically created and maintained via the same integrations you can use for account creation, like SCIM configurations for API.

This article applies to TeamViewer customers with a Tensor license.

User Groups

Location

User groups are available at https://web.teamviewer.com/ in Admin Settings ➜ User Management.

Maintaining TeamViewer Account in User Groups

Accounts are added, moved, and deleted via the abovementioned integrations. Any changes you make in Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, etc., are being reflected automatically in the Management Console.

Please note: The Management Console does not offer any buttons or menus to do this manually.

Note: Only integration into Identity Providers like Microsoft Entra ID or Okta provides for full automation. The AD Connector provides some guidance but still requires manual work and skill to get the work done. The API is only recommended to administrators who know how to work with APIs.

Filtering

With User Groups, you can easily filter the list of users in your company profile.

By clicking on one of the available groups, the accounts that belong to the group will immediately be showcased.

Event Log

For Tensor customers, all changes to the User Groups via AD, API, and SCIM will be logged in the Event log.
