Live captions are enabled, and the support receiver's voice is transcribed within the TeamViewer remote support session on the supporter's desktop.

How to change the spoken language

You can change the spoken language so the live captions are correctly transcribed in the appropriate language.

To change the spoken language, please follow the instructions below:

  1. During the remote support session, tap the three dots menu (⋮) and tap Settings.
  2. Tap on the current language and select the desired language. You can also use the search bar to search for the respective language.
  3. Return to the remote support session screen. The new spoken language is now applied.

How to translate live captions

The live caption translation feature in TeamViewer Assist AR bridges language barriers, enabling seamless communication between users. When activated, it translates and displays the spoken language of one user into the preferred language of the other, enhancing mutual understanding.

To get the live caption translation feature running, please follow the instructions below:

  1. In the Assist AR session toolbar, the supporter should select Communicate and then Enable live captions.
  2. The system will prompt the supporter to specify their spoken language. The supporter should choose their language from the drop-down menu and click Confirm.
  3. A notification will appear on the support requester's smartphone indicating that live captions have been enabled by the supporter. The support requester should click Continue and select their spoken language. The default language is the language selected by the supporter in the previous step, but if the support requester speaks a different language, they can change it by clicking Change.
  4. To be able to see the supporter’s captions, the support requester must now enable captions on their mobile device too. The support requester must click the vertical three-dots menu, then click Enable live captions, and confirm the language they speak by clicking Confirm.

The live captions are now being translated as the supporter and the support requester speak, and the remote support session can start.
