Get to know Tim Koubek, TeamViewer’s new Americas President

Quick read

Tim Koubek

Americas President at TeamViewer

Q. Welcome to TeamViewer! What drew you to the company, and what excites you most about this new role?

A. I was introduced to the opportunity through my connection with Mark Banfield, TeamViewer’s CRO. Mark and I worked together previously at LogicMonitor, and we built a strong professional relationship there. I’m confident we can replicate that success here.

At my core, I’m a builder. I’m energized by the opportunity to build teams, develop talent, and help organizations scale. The chance to do that in the Americas, while working with a talented group of people and a strong product portfolio, is incredibly compelling to me.

Q. The Americas is a dynamic and diverse market. How do you see the region contributing to TeamViewer’s global growth strategy?

A. Historically, as a European company, a lot of TeamViewer’s focus and resources were naturally concentrated in that region. But the Americas has grown significantly and established itself as a major driver of the business.

Today, the Americas is the company’s second-largest region. Given the market opportunity and customer demand here, I believe it has the potential to become number one. To get there, we need to continue investing in the region — whether that’s in tools, training, talent, or customer engagement. If we make the right investments and continue building the organization, there’s enormous upside ahead.

Q. As you step into this role, what will your top priorities be during your first months?

A. My first priority is getting to know the team and the customers. The people closest to the work often have the best insights, so it’s important for me to listen and learn.

Another focus is looking closely at how we capture and respond to customer feedback. Understanding our customers’ needs — and making sure we’re continuously improving how we listen to them — is critical to long-term success.

Q. TeamViewer continues to expand its portfolio across remote connectivity, digital employee experience, and AI-powered solutions. How do you see these innovations creating opportunities for customers in the Americas?

A. TeamViewer has always delivered tremendous value through visibility and data. That insight into IT environments and digital workplaces is incredibly important for our customers.

But the world is evolving quickly, and the next stage of progress requires automation. AI is already helping organizations solve real-world problems, but we’re only at the beginning of what’s possible. There’s a huge opportunity ahead, and it’s important that we stay at the forefront by helping customers move from visibility and insight to intelligent automation that improves productivity and outcomes.

Q. Culture is an important part of TeamViewer’s identity. How do you approach building strong, high-performing teams across a large and distributed organization?

A. For me, culture comes down to two things: trust and communication.

My role as a leader is to create a trusted communication pathway where people understand not just what decisions are being made, but why. When teams trust each other and communication is clear, people can align around shared goals and perform at a high level.

Q. Looking ahead, what is one milestone or achievement you would love to see the Americas organization accomplish in the next year?

A. The biggest milestone for me is building predictable revenue growth. If we have a strong foundation, the right processes, and a clear understanding of our customers, predictable growth follows. That consistency is what enables organizations to scale successfully.

Q. What leadership principle or lesson has guided you throughout your career?

A. There are four principles that have guided me throughout my career.

First, passion. I’m passionate about the work I do, and I try to hire people who have that same fire in their belly.

Second, being coachable and open-minded. No matter how much experience you have, you should always be willing to learn.

Third, curiosity. Curiosity is essential when it comes to understanding customers and identifying how we can better meet their needs.

And finally, integrity. Doing the right thing — and doing it consistently — is the foundation of strong leadership.

Q. Outside of work, what helps you recharge or stay motivated?

A. I work hard, but I also believe in playing hard. For me, that means focusing on mind, body, and spirit. I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my partner, my family, and a close community of friends.

Ultimately, what motivates me outside of work is creating meaningful memories with the people who matter most.

Q. Finally, what would you like TeamViewer colleagues to know about you as you begin this new chapter?

A. I’m a team player. I believe it’s important to always assume good will and remember that we’re all working toward the same goals.

If we put egos aside, collaborate openly, and support each other, we can accomplish great things together.
