TeamViewer donates IT equipment to Ukrainian university

Article

TeamViewer has donated more than 100 IT devices with a combined market value of over €75,000 to Lviv IT College in Ukraine. The hardware will support students and faculty in education, teaching, and hands-on IT projects. The donated devices consist of surplus workstations and laptops from TeamViewer’s own inventory that were professionally refurbished.

The transport to Ukraine was organized and supported by the non-profit organization Osteuropa Hilfe Starnberg e.V. at the end of August. Following successful customs clearance, the shipment reached its destination in Lviv, where the devices are now being installed across various departments.

“Technology gives people access to education, knowledge, and career opportunities. With this donation, we want to help students in Ukraine gain hands-on experience with modern IT and develop important digital skills despite challenging circumstances,” said Alexander Gührer, VP Procurement & ESG at TeamViewer. “At the same time, we are extending the lifecycle of high-quality hardware, combining social engagement with responsible resource management.”

Representatives of Lviv IT College emphasized the importance of the donation for educating the next generation of IT professionals. The hardware was officially introduced to students at the start of the new academic semester.

“We are very grateful to TeamViewer for this generous support. These devices will help our students gain practical experience and further develop the skills they need for a successful career in IT,” said Ostap Yunak, Deputy Director of Student Affairs at Lviv IT College.

Through this donation, TeamViewer is making a tangible contribution to education in Ukraine and helping aspiring IT professionals continue their academic and professional development during a time shaped by the ongoing impacts of war. At the same time, the initiative gives the hardware a second life through reuse, contributing to a more responsible and sustainable use of resources.
