We’re excited to share a key milestone in TeamViewer’s FedRAMP journey: the successful build-out and compliance of our test environment as the quality gate for our production system authorization of our DEX platform (formerly 1E Platform).

This achievement marks a critical step toward full FedRAMP authorization and the final stages of our journey. It demonstrates our dedication to meeting the highest standards of security and compliance required by U.S. federal agencies.

What is FedRAMP and why does it matter?

The Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) is the U.S. government’s standard for cloud security. It provides a consistent, government-wide approach to assessing, authorizing, and monitoring cloud products and services, making sure they meet strict cybersecurity requirements.

For cloud service providers (CSPs), FedRAMP certification is essential to work with federal agencies. It verifies that a provider’s security practices meet the government’s highest standards.

By establishing clear, repeatable processes and a shared marketplace, FedRAMP speeds up the adoption of secure, reliable cloud solutions across government. This helps agencies move confidently from legacy systems to modern, mission-ready technologies.

TeamViewer’s FedRAMP journey

TeamViewer has been steadily advancing toward FedRAMP authorization for TeamViewer DEX (previously 1E Platform), our digital employee experience platform.

The TeamViewer DEX Platform enables federal IT teams to enhance end user experience, strengthen security, reduce costs, and transform IT Operations from cost center into a strategic asset. We have successfully completed NIST SP 800-53, a set of comprehensive security standards for assessing, certifying, and monitoring cloud computing services security. Now, we have achieved FedRAMP Compliance and are rapidly heading toward the final stages.

Our test environment is designed and validated to mirror the production system, ensuring that every control, process, and safeguard meets FedRAMP’s stringent requirements. As TeamViewer Chief Product and Technology Officer, Mei Dent explains “Reaching the production milestone under our FedRAMP journey is a major achievement for the team. Building and authorizing our test environment as the quality gate for our live system demonstrates our commitment to rigorous security standards and operational excellence.”

This approach also “validates our architecture and controls and sets the foundation for full FedRAMP authorization” concludes Mei.

Looking ahead and next steps

With this milestone under our belts, we are now deploying our production environment, further demonstrating our dedication to secure, compliant endpoint management for federal customers. “We’re excited about the momentum and proud of the cross-functional effort that brought us here” says Mei.

Over the next few months we will work with our hosting partner to offer FedRAMP Compliant DEX Platform and in parallel with our sponsoring agency to attain In Process Designation and Authorization to Operate.

What does this mean for you? With TeamViewer, federal agencies can:

  • Deliver seamless digital experiences with proactive issue identification and resolution through automation.
  • Ensure endpoint compliance with real-time capabilities that enable you to respond to vulnerabilities within minutes.
  • Reduce the costs of service desk operations, endpoint estate management, and responding to agency priorities thanks to automation and deep integrations.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our push toward full FedRAMP certification.
