Enhancing IIoT platform to offer remote access to devices and systems

A leading provider of tools for industrial innovation and networking has established Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platforms. Among others, they enable companies to monitor their assets and visualize them in the form of digital twins. Furthermore, data from networked products, machines, and systems can be captured, analyzed, and employed for maintenance purposes. However, the end clients wanted to depict maintenance, control, and incident management scenarios remotely, for both supervised and unsupervised assets. In response to this demand, the provider integrated both TeamViewer and TeamViewer IoT into their online marketplace. End clients now have remote maintenance and control capabilities available in the asset management tool. Regardless of their current location, they can access supervised and unsupervised devices and machines to perform remote maintenance and monitor them. Making these applications available on the online marketplace upgrades the platform and extends the partner ecosystem

Challenges

  • It is getting more and more important to be able to manage assets regardless of locations
  • IIot clients demand the option of depicting maintenance, control, and incident management scenarios remotely, for both supervised and unsupervised assets

Solution

  • TeamViewer and TeamViewer IoT were integrated into the provider’s online marketplace. End clients access them directly through their asset management tool
  • Regardless of their current location, end clients can now access supervised and unsupervised devices and machines and perform remote maintenance and monitor them
  • Additionally, TeamViewer IoT over WS EMS (Web Socket Edge Micro Server) significantly reduces the configuration and initialization workload for admins
The integration of TeamViewer opens up new, location-independent access and control options to our customers that will, for instance, save them time when performing maintenance and help them remedy errors fast and easily.
