Knowledge4Retail
Smart retail through digitization
The research project Knowledge4Retail targets the goal of merging digital and stationary retail, achieving a transfer of technology and knowledge to medium-sized retail businesses, and establishing a new generation of information systems for retail and its supply chains as a digital innovation platform and ecosystem.

The Project
The project connects online and stationary retail, e. g. through intelligent service robotics and Digital Twin knowledge bases (DTkbs). The task of the DTkbs is the modelling of company resources in terms of information and decision-making processes and environments, such as supermarkets, logistics chains, and warehouses. This is done by combining environment models as symbolic knowledge bases with forward-looking big-data platforms, AI, analytics, and virtual reality simulations.
