TeamViewer is introducing new accessibility enhancements to improve the remote session experience for users who rely on screen readers. These updates ensure that key session events are clearly announced, making it easier for visually impaired users to stay informed and in control during remote support.

This article applies to all TeamViewer users running Windows and using TeamViewer 15.69 or higher.

How to enable Windows notifications for incoming remote sessions

To enable Windows notifications for remote sessions on your device:

  1. Open your TeamViewer client.
  2. Go to Settings (⚙).
  3. Within the Device section, click Notifications.
  4. Turn on Windows notification and Windows notifications for incoming sessions.

Screen reader support during remote sessions

TeamViewer provides enhanced support for screen reader users to ensure a more accessible remote session experience:

Session start announcement

When a remote session begins, your screen reader announces that the session has started.

Supporter identification

As soon as someone connects to your device, your screen reader reads their name aloud.

Session switch notification

If the session switches between devices or users, your screen reader announces the change.

Keyboard shortcut to end session

You can end a session using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + F8 for quick and independent control.

Session end announcement

When the session ends, your screen reader announces that the session has been closed.
