TeamViewer Announces End of Life of Versions 1 through 4

Decision Prompted by Continued Focus on Quality and Reliability


Göppingen/Germany, July 26, 2017.TeamViewer®, a leading global software provider for digital networking and collaboration, today announced the end of life of Versions 1 through 4 of its flagship product. As of January 2018, versions 1 through 4 will neither be supported nor be able to connect to the TeamViewer server.

This decision is mainly triggered by two factors: Firstly, TeamViewer wants to maintain its high-quality standards. Secondly, TeamViewer wants to ensure the continued delivery of reliable functionalities: The Versions in questions are built on an out-of date architecture, which imposes significant restrictions on both objectives. Therefore, TeamViewer will terminate the support of these two product versions.
