TeamViewer appoints new CEO


Tampa, FL, January 16, 2018TeamViewer®, a leading global software provider for IoT, connectivity, monitoring, support, and team collaboration, today announced the appointment of Oliver Steil (46) as new CEO. Most recently Oliver Steil has been Partner of the global private equity firm Permira and member of TeamViewer’s advisory board. He takes office in January and succeeds Andreas König who resigned for personal reasons at the end of 2017.

“We are more than happy that Oliver will join the team as new CEO to continue and further accelerate TeamViewer’s growth trajectory”, says Abe Peled, Chairman of TeamViewer’s advisory board. “His proven management and execution skills, vast experience in building and successfully leading tech champions and deep knowledge of TeamViewer make him a perfect fit for this exciting role.”

At Permira, Oliver Steil has built up and headed the Portfolio Group, which is working with global deal teams across all sectors on designing and delivering value creation plans for Permira funds’ portfolio companies. Prior to joining the private equity firm, Oliver Steil had served as CEO of Sunrise Communications AG, the largest privately owned telecommunications provider in Switzerland, and as CEO of Debitel (today: freenet AG), a leading mobile service provider in Germany. He started his career at McKinsey where he became a Partner with a focus on the telecommunications and technology sector.
