Press Release – February 25th, 2019
Goppingen/Nuremberg, February 25th, 2019 – TeamViewer®, a global leader in secure remote connectivity solutions, is exhibiting at Embedded World Expo 2019 in Nuremberg from February 26 to 28, where it will showcase the newest features of its dedicated Internet of Things solution, TeamViewer IoT.
TeamViewer IoT: Secure Hyperconnectivity for IoT environments
TeamViewer IoT features live remote control and incident management for virtually any IoT device such as gateways, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and specialized industrial machinery. It can instantly be deployed through the cloud, is managed through a cloud interface and enables users to securely connect, manage, and monitor edge devices from anywhere. Thanks to TeamViewer’s Global Access Network with more than 1000 secure routers worldwide TeamViewer IoT provides scale, security, high performance, and low latency for customers demanding geographical reach. TeamViewer IoT can as well easily be integrated with existing IoT platforms and legacy IT landscapes.
“The latest version of our dedicated IoT solution provides enhanced configuration, screen grabbing, and additional remote troubleshooting possibilities. Together with real-time edge visualization, we continuously strive to leverage our leading connectivity expertise for a horizontal, non-proprietary IoT solution that is instantly productive and just works”, says Dr. Mike Eissele, Chief Technology Officer at TeamViewer.
New features presented in Nuremberg include:
Remote Screen Grabbing
With Remote Screen Grabbing TeamViewer completes the access possibilities to devices. While it was already possible to access user interfaces of non-screen devices, users can now instantly establish a
remote connection to a device anywhere in the world and connect to screens and displays to access user interfaces (GUIs). This way, users can remotely operate machines and devices as if they were standing right in front of them.
Extension of the cloud rule engine
With TeamViewer IoT, users can automate their environment, set alerts and triggers, monitor performance issues and immediately react to any errors that occur on the monitored device. Users can create custom rules and smart triggers, visualize sensor data, and monitor their devices all from one IoT console. With the latest update, users can now also create conditional rules that apply to multiple devices and metrics and get rule-based alarms, set different severity levels as well as notifications with web hooks to trigger further actions (e.g. creation of a ticket in a third-party ticketing system).
Remote edge monitoring and control in real time
Users have now the option and flexibility to command and control devices, machines, and sensors directly on the Edge in addition to passing data through the cloud. Just a few clicks, and the machine responds in real time. Additional benefits include:
