AI credit‑based payment model
Last Modified: Aug 24, 2026
TeamViewer AI uses a credit-based payment model for AI-powered features such as Session Insights, Tia Troubleshooting, and Scale script generation. AI credits are consumed when these features are used, based on the applicable consumption model for each feature. This article explains how AI credits are allocated, how additional credits can be purchased, and how credits are consumed across supported AI features.
This article applies to customers with licenses that include TeamViewer AI features.
Understanding AI credits
Included AI credits are automatically allocated on the first day of each month based on the customer's license.
The number of AI credits available depends on your license. For details about included credits, see license descriptions.
You can view your remaining AI credit balance in the top-right corner of the AI settings page.
Purchase additional AI credits
You can purchase additional AI credits through:
- The Customer Portal
- The AI settings page in TeamViewer
Additional credits follow the rules of the AI credits add-on.
AI credits add‑on
AI credits are available as an annual subscription add‑on and are co‑termed with the main license.
Usage policy:
- Included and purchased AI credits reset when the subscription term renews.
- Any unused AI credits expire on the renewal date and are not carried over to the next subscription term.
Mid‑term activation:
When customers purchase the AI credits add-on for the first time during an active subscription term, they receive the full annual credit allocation at a prorated price.
These credits remain valid until the main license's renewal date.
AI credit consumption
Session Insights
Each generated Session Insights summary consumes 1 AI credit.
Tia troubleshooting
Contextual assistance
Credit consumption depends on the package of Tia capabilities available to users
- When the package Contextual assistance is assigned to the user, usage of Tia consumes 1 AI credit (flat fee) per session
Live Troubleshooting and End-to-End Resolution
When the Live Diagnostics or End-to-end Resolution package is assigned, AI credit consumption is based on conversation size.
Tia AI credit consumption when a user is assigned an advanced Tia package:
| Cobversation size | AI credits size | Approximate conversations with 250 credits |
|---|---|---|
Small (S) | 1 | Up to 250 |
Medium (M) | 2 | Up to 125 |
Large (L) | 3 | Up to 83 |
Extra Large (XL) | 4 | Up to 62 |
The approximate conversation counts shown above are based on a 250-credit AI credits add-on and are intended as guidance only.
Session Insights included with Tia Troubleshooting
When Session Insights are generated as part of a Tia Troubleshooting conversation, they do not consume additional AI credits.
The troubleshooting session and the associated Session Insights use the same credit consumption model.
Benefits of the conversation-based model
- Transparent AI credit consumption
- Consistent usage model across all troubleshooting modes
- Predictable credit usage as conversations grow
- Efficient troubleshooting can result in lower credit consumption
- Freedom to use advanced troubleshooting workflows without switching credit models
Scale script generation
Scale script generation uses the following credit consumption model:
| Action | AI credits used |
|---|---|
Generate a new script | 5 |
Refine an existing generated script | 1 |
Note: Scale script generation is available only for customers with TeamViewer ONE Standard or Advanced, or Remote / Tensor with DEX Essentials licenses.
