This article applies to Linux users in all licenses.

System requirements

TeamViewer (Classic) for Linux requires a Linux kernel version 4.18 or later and GLIBC 2.28 or a later version.

The following minimum operating system versions are supported:

  • Debian 11 (including Raspbian / Raspberry PI OS)
  • Ubuntu 22.04 and derivatives (e.g., Kubuntu)
  • Mint 21
  • RHEL 8, Alma 8, Rocky 8, CentOS Stream 9, Fedora 41
  • SUSE Enterprise 15, openSUSE 15

Machine requirements

x86 64-bit: amd64 (Intel 64/EM64T)

x86 32-bit: SSE2

armv7 32-bit: armv7 with hardfloat - e.g., Raspberry Pi 3

armv8 64 bit / arm64: e.g. Raspberry Pi 3/4/5

Choose your package

For PC: Choose the 64-bit or 32-bit package according to your system

  • If in doubt, run uname
    • On a 64-bit system, uname -m will print x86_64.

For Raspberry Pi: Choose the ARM package

Installing TeamViewer (Classic)

The package can usually be installed by double-clicking or right-clicking on the icon and selecting the package manager (e.g. Open with software installation, Open with GDebi package installer, Open with Ubuntu Software Center, or Open with QApt package installer)

If you prefer the command line, run

# for DEB packages:
apt install ./teamviewer_15.x.yyy_[arch].deb
apt install ./teamviewer-host_15.x.yyy_[arch].deb

# for RPM packages (use dnf if yum is not available):
yum install ./teamviewer_15.x.yyy.[arch].rpm
yum install ./teamviewer-host_15.x.yyy.[arch].rpm

# for SUSE:
zypper install ./teamviewer-suse_15.x.yyy.[arch].rpm
zypper install ./teamviewer-host-suse_15.x.yyy.[arch].rpm

Notes:

  • To install on RPM systems (including Fedora), if signature verification fails, for general installation instructions on RHEL or CentOS, see the following article:
  • To install via ssh or configure unattended access on the command line, see the following article:
  • teamviewer and teamviewer-hostcannot be installed side by side. If you want to install teamviewer-host, teamviewer must be removed first. If you want to run teamviewer occasionaly, you can use the tar package and run it without installation.
