Auto-deployment of TeamViewer via Intune
Last Modified: Sep 22, 2026
It is now possible to deploy TeamViewer automatically to Microsoft Intune Managed devices, utilizing Microsoft Intune directly within TeamViewer. This automatically creates the required rollout configuration and provisions the necessary deployment applications in Intune, reducing the manual configuration previously required for TeamViewer deployments.
This article applies to all Microsoft Connect, Microsoft Connect Pro, and Enterprise Integration Add-On license holders.
Prerequisites
Before TeamViewer can be auto-deployed via Intune, the Intune environment must be synced via the Intune Device Sync integration. These steps can be found in the following article:

How to set up TeamViewer deployment
The following steps can be completed once the Intune Device Sync is connected and authorized, and the sync operator group is assigned:
Go to Admin settings → Integrations → Microsoft Intune Device Sync.
Next to TeamViewer deployment, click Authorize.
Sign in with your Microsoft Intune administrator account and grant consent. This is a separate consent from Device Sync (app-deployment permissions).
TeamViewer automatically creates a rollout configuration ("Automatically created rollout configuration by Intune Auto Deploy") managed by your sync operator group, and provisions the TeamViewer installer apps (Full Client and Host) in your Intune tenant in the background.
After authorization is completed, TeamViewer provisions both the Full Client and Host deployment applications in Microsoft Intune.
How to deploy to a device group
Once setup is completed, deployment is possible to any Intune device groups:
Go to Intune device groups.
Select one or more synced groups → Set up deployment.
Choose the deployment type: Host or Full client.
Click Deploy. TeamViewer is installed automatically (install intent: Required) on all Windows devices in the selected Intune groups.
Notes and limitations
- The deployment type cannot be changed after deployment. To switch between Host and Full Client, you must remove the deployment directly in Intune.
- The deployed client type (Full client/Host/--) is displayed in the new Deployment column on the Intune device groups page.
- Deployment targets Windows x86 and x64 devices (Windows 10 1607 or later); installation runs silently as the System.
- Installed clients are automatically assigned to the TeamViewer Company via the rollout configuration - no manual assignment needed.
- Intune considers TeamViewer installed if the MSI product code is registered in the devices' system registry.
- Multiple TeamViewer companies sharing the same Azure tenant will reuse the same Intune apps.
- Disconnecting the TeamViewer deployment does not remove it from Intune. You must remove it directly in Intune.
