Containers: Animating the targets (adding the target in a step state and animate)
In the Editor, it is possible to associate a part or multiple parts of a model with an instruction component; it is also possible to add the target in a step state and animate it. When that is visualized, the part(s) will be highlighted over the assembly. To animate certain targets and leave the rest of the model, step states containers can be used with targets. With this, the animation will only appear during that step. The user can select an individual part or an assembly of parts to be associated with the instruction component and then press Enter.
Note: Assemblies can also be selected via the scene explorer. To select multiple parts, hold Ctrl and click each part individually. If the parts are already grouped, selecting the group will automatically include all model parts within it. For more information, please see the scene explorer page.
The color, quality, and style of the container can be changed by clicking on the container to edit and using the settings on the right. The same highlight will appear over the real-life component when the instruction component is visualized in Spatial Workplace.
The default hologram color is light blue, and it can be changed via settings. On this inspection, it shows the visibility and the color of the container.
Animating the containers
There are two ways to animate Containers:
1. Containers can be animated together by clicking on Animate on the first Inspector Screen.
2. By clicking on the Individual Container to animate. This will open the container's Inspector screen.
With these potions, the user can:
- Click on Play to preview the animation.
- Change the distance between the keyframes to change the speed of the animation.
- Add as many keyframes as desired for different animated targets.
- Change the frame duration of the timeline through the frame/frame input fields.
- Click on Confirm to save the animation, or Discard to delete the changes.
Lines
Another way of highlighting parts of the model is by drawing lines over them. Lines can be used under the instruction component within a step.
- Select the instruction component.
- Click on + Add under the Lines section in the right menu.
- Define the lines by clicking points on the model's surface. Lines will be drawn between the defined points.
- Click on Done to end the line drawing.
- Optional: If desired, change the line's color and name via the Edit button in the right menu.
Note: The default line color can be changed via the settings.
