The 3D models added in the scene are not visible in the Spatial Workplace app by default. To make the whole model or certain parts of it visible, add a scene state step to the workflow.

Connector view

To access the connector view, click on Connector in the top menu of the editor. The connector pane will open as the main scene.

In the Connector view, the spatial references and workflow components appear as steps in a 2D representation of their connections.

Grouping the steps

Steps can be grouped within the Connector view for better organization while editing workflows. This feature allows users to group and move steps that belong together.

Note: Groups cannot be connected to other groups or steps. The connections are still between the steps within the groups.

To do that:

1. Go to the Connector view by clicking on Connector from the Menu Bar.

2. Click on Create.

3. Choose Node Group from the dropdown.

4. With your cursor, draw a rectangle over the steps you wish to group.

Scene State Nodes

A scene state node modifies the scene in the workflow. There are two different types of modifications in a single node:

  • Visible: The selected model or part becomes visible to the user.
  • Reset transform: If the selected model or part has been moved from its original place, this is undone and reset to its default state.

To change the visibility and add a scene state node:

  1. Open the connector view and click on Add > Scene State Node.
  2. Click on the node to select it and, on the right, click on Add Scene Modifier > Visible.

3.  Click on Add Targets to open the selection screen and select the parts of the model to make visible.

4.  To make the whole model visible, open the scene explorer on the left, select the top assembly, and press Enter. The selected model is now highlighted in the scene. You can also choose just one part to make it visible.

5.  To select multiple parts, hold Ctrl and click each part individually. If the parts are already grouped, selecting the group will automatically include all model parts within it.

If you are working on a complex workflow that requires multiple scene state nodes, you can also copy animated targets from the instruction component or a scene state node and paste them into another scene state node to reduce authoring time and eliminate errors.
